Overview

Oliver is an Associate, and his practice focuses on domestic and international construction and engineering disputes. Oliver has acted for both contractors and developers in connection with a wide range of projects in the UK, Europe and Middle East, including high-end residential, commercial and infrastructure, and he has experience in court proceedings, mediation, statutory adjudication and international arbitration. Before qualifying as a lawyer, Oliver spent nearly six years working in the construction industry.

Acted in arbitral proceedings for a mechanical and electrical subcontractor in relation to claims and counterclaims arising from works to an international airport in the Middle East.

Acted for an SPV in connection with professional negligence claims against an engineer and the defence of multiple adjudications from a contractor on a major redevelopment in London.

Acted for a Korean joint-venture contractor in arbitral proceedings for claims relating to delay, disruption and termination arising from the construction of a refinery in the Middle East.

Defended a developer against claims in adjudication for delay, disruption and defects connected with the refurbishment of a London property.

Advised an engineer on its defence to a Pre-Action Protocol Letter of Claim for alleged negligence in the design of a viaduct.

Acted as co-counsel in arbitral proceedings governed by Czech law to defend claims brought under a share purchase agreement following the disposal of a commercial property.
